Trying to Be an Adult Today

I'm a little frazzled. My son plays football and the coach is leaving. The kid is taking it better than I am, but still it's got to hurt. You get close to people, you look up to them and then poof! They go off to another team. It seems he was always building up the guys and making them feel great about their team and then suddenly gone. I can't say I'm not disappointed. I think there is something to say about commitment that I can't really express right here. I don't want to put my son in any kind of a bad way with the team by expressing my opinions so I won't. He will have to learn from ti I guess.

So what else? Not much. I am in a funk today because of everything going on and I don't want to leave the house. I can't take a shower. I have no clean clothes. LOL That is a long story. My middle kid decided that he was going to clean the laundry room one day so, instead of putting the clothes into the hamper that were knocked down on the floor (by him), he throws them all away. I'm down to one pair of pants and my plaid pajama pants. Can you believe that? It's just something I deal with. Hopefully he will move soon. He's 22.

All of this stuff going on with my kids and all of my appliances failing and work going slow doesn't help when I'm in perimenpause, either. No, I haven't checked with my doctor. I don't really have one. the only doctors available on my crappy insurance plan (thank obozo) I don't really want to have as my physicians for certain reasons. So, I'm assuming that it is just the beginnings of menopause. It started last year. My cycle usually always starts between the 4th and the 9th then suddenly it started every 3 weeks. Then it was every 2 weeks. Then it got down to 1 week. I was hoping it would dwindle out of existence, but it doesn't. Now it is back to the first week of the month. It's so annoying. I'm 50. It's time now. OK?

So with all of this going on and the hormones off the charts, I'm a wreck. I'm tired. My left shoulder was hurting for awhile, numb. Sometimes in my arm and wrist. I went to the urgent care when it was happening. They did 3 EKGs, but nothing. I was also having ear aches. He gave me antibiotics. Then the pain went away. I haven't made a follow up appointment because I just don't like doctors with 3rd world degrees. Sorry.  So I'm stuck. I think it's a nerve problem with my shoulder when I picked up a rather large screen tv that I got off of freecycle. I don't know. I moved it again the other day and guess what? The pain is back.

So now I'm totally tired and bummed. I think I'll just go take a middle aged nap and let my worries fade away for an hour or two. With my luck, my ex-husband will come over to harass me. ugh. Sorry this isn't upbeat. I'm looking for my positive side, but I think the hormones are hiding it.

Ordering Chilis Online for Birthday Boy

Today was pretty slow. After having the flu for a week, I found myself really tired but excited to feel better. My 16 year old son developed a rash over his torso and arms so it was off to the doctor again and another missed day of school. He misses quite a bit of school because of issues, but he's always passing his tests and getting his homework done managing a 3.6. If he wasn't on the football team I'd suggest he would do that independent study so the absences aren't such an issue with the fascist state, but whatever.

So tonight we tried Chili's take out by ordering online. It was okay. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be, but it wasn't as good either. Of course, the meal was only $10 for me with 2 entrees and 3 sides, but it just seemed like something was missing. Maybe it was the fun of sitting at the table. Birthday boy wanted it delivered and that is good because I'm not leaving the house for fun until my water heater is fixed. It's getting pretty depressing with all that going on.

Tonight I borrowed his AllCast which is similar to a Chromecast. I was hoping to watch Netflix on it so I didn't need to watch it on my little tablet. Unfortunately, you can't stream Netflix so it isn't going to work on the Chromecast. This is a real drag. I don't see what the problem is, it's not like I'm showing it to a bunch of people as it would only be streaming to my television. Why do criminals have to make everything so difficult for all of us? If people would just be honest then those of us who actually are wouldn't have to go through extremes to get things done.

That's about it. I have a serious migraine so I might just miss my show Bates Motel tonight and watch it tomorrow. I wanted to watch it on my big tv :(

When It Rains, It POURS!

If I had been blogging about 2016 then you would have flipped over everything that broke around my house. First my dishwasher broke. That one was easy to figure out. My son was shooting a pellet gun in the house when I wasn't home and one must have went into the dishwasher because it was clogging the overflow above the sink and making the dishwasher not work. That was the easiest appliance to fix last year.

In February or March of 2016 my kitchen sink stopped working completely. It has always had this problem backing up and then a slow drain, but during that month it completely backed up and no one has been able to determine the problem yet. I took it apart and put it back together, but now when ti clogs it sprays water everywhere under my sink. :( My son thinks he knows what it is so he is going to go rent one of those professional augers.

A few months later my oven died. It didn't really die, it just started to smell like gas really bad when we turned it on then it stopped heating. I'm sure it is probably just the burner needing a clean, but I'm deathly afraid of gas. I would much rather use electricity or a BBQ. So we bought one of those ovens that are supposed to be a Nuwave convection oven. No, it was basically a toaster oven with a glass bottom where the convection part of it doesn't really cycle that great so the food turns up cold on the bottom and burnt on the top. It just stopped working a year later. It cooked some things really well and other things not so great so I think it will be a great item to keep if we can just buy the part off Amazon. It was only $50.00.

Then, my dryer died. It no longer heats. Fine. We can hang clothes. I'm California. Then it rains all year long. LOL We used the dryers here in our community. Next, the washer stops agitating. We start using both the washer and dryer at the local laundry room. Yesterday we were able to hookup a new washer and the clothes are drying on the line. I'm hoping to get a new water heater soon or the part the current one needs. One thing at a time, I guess.

So in December, the water heater broke. Yes, the ultimate horror. It stopped heating. The pilot light went out. Kaput! Gone. My son bought a new pilot light which was leaking gas because it was the wrong tube size. So then he bought another part which kept the burner only running at half and the water was luke warm. Still smelled like gas. So we're waiting to buy this other part when I have enough cash. I don't right now. Sponge bathing is not fun. My son bought some 5-gallon buckets and a water warmer and a USB shower head which works great for him. It isn't perfect for me. I boil copious amounts of water and put them in the buckets then use it.

2016 was also a really bad year financially. I lost about $9,000 in business for 4 years totaling about $36,000 for EACH year incrementally. I started looking for jobs. It was awful. These past few months have picket up in affiliate marketing so I'm hoping it's back to business time. With the awful economy caused by an over-regulated market over the past 8 years I'm sure that we can now get back to business since the big boys are in charge again. Yes, the free market. THANK YOU!

Now I'm picking up the pieces and getting back into the swing of my affiliate marketing business. I still haven't chosen one I like. I've tried a few, but I never really liked the products much. They were all so scammy. I guess I'll just keep on blogging and tell you when I find one I like.
