Please Be Kind to Your Kids

While doing laundry last night a younger woman with a child who was around 8 years old came into the laundry to get their loads of laundry which took up all 3 dryers. Sadly, she has the stench of pot all around her which mean her kid must smell it all of the time. Even worse, as they were walking out of the laundry room he wasn't quite listening to her and she says, "ARE YOU CHALLENGED?" to him.

Really?

Then we all wonder why our kids grow up with certain attitudes. Maybe this is why some kids grow up as bullies or extremely insecure with themselves? By looking at her I can assume she probably was a bully. This is also the kind of kid that would probably stick up for his mother if I had said something to her or she probably would have stabbed me. Seriously. Even with all of that laundry in her hand. Of course had she been physically abusing him I would have stepped in. Unfortunately, when I hear parents acting like absolute jerks to their children with words my biggest concern is that if I do say something then when they get home she will take it out what I said on him physically.

What is wrong with people? These are your children. They look up to you for support and love. They aren't there to be bullied and hated on. You are there to teach them and help them grow up to be responsible adults so they don't live in your basement for the next 40 years of their lives or out on the streets. Treat them with kindness and be strict with them so they have boundaries. Always show them love and make sure they know what you approve of and what you do not approve of but in a way that shows you care.

And if that doesn't bother you remember, they are the ones who will be taking care of you and visiting you when you are 90. Treat them right during this time and they will bring you smiles while you are on your death bed.

I'm not even sure where to go with this post today. It's the end of an old week and the start of a new one. It's two weeks into March and the month has gone by way too slowly. I'm glad it is warming up here in California though. Finally. I almost thought my state had moved north!

I had this dream that I was a huge blogger and at a convention. The hotel staff had little bungalows outside the dining area and my team and I were sitting down eating and as usual, I'm always the last finished eating because I don't like eating in front of others. I had to rush before the first session. Then I woke up. It was all really strange. I don't go to conventions. I used to when I worked at big companies, but now I'm happy just watching them from the web. I know, networking is good. Sorry, I have a huge anxiety problem in front of people. I prefer to just blog and take my chances.

Now that my washer AND dryer are broken I have to go do laundry off at a laundry mat. Unfortunately, I always wait until I have no casual clothes left. I suppose I could blog at the laundry room, but I don't have a laptop--I have a netbook and a few tablets and none of those are really good for blogging at all. I also need to go to the store. I don't have a car. LOL LOL AYE! Is it the laundry first or the groceries? Decisions....

I wanted to work all day because my son was home all week on vacation and I got nothing done. That isn't going to happen now as I have to go to the store. It takes hours to do one store trip on the bus. I could take a cab, but I am a real scrooge. Oh well, off I go!

Do You Put Bacon in Everything?

I absolutely, positively LOVE bacon! I've put bacon in a lot of things that are related to salad, meat, and just plain bacon, but I've never thought of putting bacon in cinnamon rolls or pancakes. Some of these recipes look amazing for Christmas! Here is one to get you started, but I recommend getting more bacon recipes here. Fry your bacon until it's cooked, but you're still able to move it and it doesn't crumble. Dip in pancake batter. Fry your pancakes. Delicious!

Rocks

We're trying to move the rocks from the front yard. There's a ton of them and they annoyingly sharp. You can't weed around the because you just can't pull them out of the dirt. It's hard to get a grip near the bottom. You can't walk on them because they sharp and ugly. So, we started to shovel them away.

I'm paying my son to do it. He claims he's doing it but the mess is still there. I think he's doing a tiny bit a day. I told him I can't afford to pay him to do it all and he just says 'oh it's ok' but then gets mad when I tell him to work harder. I guess I'll just have to do it all and when he asks for money I'm going to say, "Sorry, I did all the work."

Sore as Hell Today

So I'm sore as hell today. My son decided to try and push me into a puddle while we were taking a walk in the rain together last night. The puddle was deeper than expected and I slipped and fell. It wasn't fun. So no walk with him this morning to the bus stop, which is a drag because I really enjoy our walks together.

Other than that, the diet is going well I suppose. People say I look thinner, but the scale isn't moving much. My clothes are looser and my face is thinner. I figure it's probably the build of muscle back into my legs that is putting on pounds if I'm getting thinner. I know I sat on my butt for almost 5 years here doing next to nothing but blogging so yeah, my muscles are small and weak. A few months of walking and then weights should take care of that. Swimming will be coming up too, but you won't find me in the pool in front of people until this gut is smaller.

My Son is Becoming an Affiliate Marketer!

I'm so proud of my little man. He's becoming an affiliate marketer. He recently realized the power of youtube and social networking. He just created a channel to start recording youtube videos with his games with his friends. It's pretty cool. I told him that I'd help him with the social networking aspect of it and creating a twitter and tumblr account.

I love raising little entrepreneurs!

Now he can start a great channel and when he goes into the military he'll have money to burn. Yes, he wants to be a Marine and I'm so proud of him. I think he'll do well with his channel as long as he behaves >.>.

Just wait until he gets his first check from the affiliate marketing program. This will be so cool.

Blogging from my tablet

I've started blogging from my tablet and it's really interesting. I'm using the Google Nexus and most everything works except trying to go between the social networking apps such as tumblr, facebook, and twitter to chrome. It always switches to chrome.

I guess I'll try to find a way around this and write about it in my main blog geekmom or at least try to work around it. I don't know how well that will work.

I also need to get a new case for my tablet. I bought this horribly cheap one from some off the wall site that is always posting ads on facebook. It's a little piece of crap and the only thing it is useful for is to the keyboard adapter that plugs into the usb port to my extra Mac keyboard and the stand the case turns into. It does have a cheap little keyboard that comes with the case, but the keyboard is extremely small and the space bar doesn't work. I would love to find a really nice one when I can.

I can say that blogging from my tablet is fun. I had to do it for a few days when my Internet connection failed. I'll give a real review on the keyboard when I have it going.

Green Dot Customer Service Issues

I received a moneypak from someone and now Greendot won't honor it although we have faxed all the receipts. It doesn't help their customer service is in the Philipines and not the USA. I won't be doing business with Greendot any longer.
